DBT BET
The Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, is a national-level competitive examination aimed at selecting candidates for the DBT-Junior Research Fellowship (DBT-JRF) Program. The DBT-JRF supports postgraduate students in pursuing research in Biotechnology and related fields. The BET evaluates candidates’ understanding of core biotechnology concepts such as molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, microbiology, bioinformatics, and more. BET is conducted in two categories:
- Category I: Qualifies candidates for DBT-JRF funding under the Biotechnology Research Fellowships Program.
- Category II: Places candidates on a merit list for research positions in other DBT-funded projects.
